Located in a petite village in southern iceland, hotel hvolsvollur is surrounded with grand natural phenomena and world famous tourist attractions.
One of the abundant waterfalls close to hvolsvöllur is seljalandsfoss waterfall which is more than 60 metres lofty and it is able to be seen from behind the wall of water. The hekla volcano is also visible from hvolsvöllur and there’s an outdoor swimming pool heated by natural geothermal energy in the village.
Beautifully situated, hvolsvollur is an ideal location for further day trips around the southern part of the country. Remember to visit the mýrdal glacier and one of the maximum gorgeous sites in iceland, thorsmörk, that consists of amazing mountains and glaciers.
This is a historical setting where iceland's maximum famous saga, njal's saga, took place; as remote back as the 10th century. The icelandic saga centre in hvolsvöllur offers visitors a unique opening to discover the world of mythology, ocean voyages, and experience the dramatic and fascinating story of the viking age.
